The “Großer Frauenkogel” or just “Frauenkogel” is a mountain of the Karavanke at the Austrian/Slovenian border with a height above sea level of 1891 meters, the slovenian name is “Dovska Baba”.
From the summit you will have a nice view to the “Julian Alps” (including Triglav, Mangart and Monte Lussari) and the valley of the Sava Dolinka with Jesenice and Dovje. From the southern side the mountain looks harmless with alpine pastures, on the northern side there are tremendous rock faces however. You can reach the summit from the “Kleiner Frauenkogel” along the ridge to the partially overhanging “Schwalbenwand” or from Slovenia from Dovje and Pl. Dovske Rozca. Furthermore you will get to this place during the multicache “Lady Afternoon”.
The cache is hidden at an undangerous place near the summit (at least in summer without any snow and ice) - you don’t have to climb to an exposed place. In winter with lots of snow and ice the cache location could be quite dangerous however.
