O convite desta cache é para conhecerem a antiga ponte ferroviária que unia a linha do Alentejo com a mina da Juliana, nos finais do sec XIX e início do XX.
PT:
A Herdade da Figueirinha é uma propriedade com 1680 hectares situada entre Beja e a Barragem do Roxo. Foi recuperada para efeitos de turismo rural, produção animal e agrícola e ganadaria. A diversidade dos animais existentes na herdade é grande: lamas, bois, avestruzes, póneis, porcos, touros, cavalos e até dromedários existentes na quinta pedagógica.
A ponte ferroviária sobre a ribeira do Roxo é o último vestígio do ramal ferroviário de ligava a linha do Alentejo com a Mina da Juliana (na aldeia do mesmo nome) no início do sec. XX para o transporte de minério extraído da mina. Com o aumento dos custos de produção a mina foi desativada e por consequência o ramal foi encerrado e retirados os carris.
A cache está acessível pelos caminhos da herdade, por entre olivais e vinhas. Recomenda-se que no acesso que se desloquem a pé ou em btt.
ATENÇÃO: não tente atravessar a ponte com o risco de uma queda mortal.

The railway bridge over the 'Ribeira do Roxo' is the last trace of the railway line linking the Alentejo railway line with Juliana mine at the beginning of the 20th century. With the rising costs of production the mine was disabled and therefore the extension was terminated and removed the rails.
The cache is accessible by foot or bike through olive groves and vineyards.
WARNING: do not try to cross the bridge with the risk of a deadly fall.
