Geocache Description:

Do you know these people?

Yes, you're right! They are:
  • Pedro Romero, the Bullfigther
  • a Maja, or Manola (a typical woman from Madrid in the XVIII century)
  • Carlos III, the King
  • the Duchess of Alba (can you spot her somewhat futuristic dog?)
  • Goya, the Painter
There are several carillons in Madrid (see the old listing).
This one dates from 1993 and displays these moving figures designed by Antonio Mingote.
We suggest visiting this carillon at showing times (these are listed in a plaque on the facade of the building and in the website of the company who owns it).
By the way, this building was designed by Joaquín Rojí, who also built one of the most beautiful buildings in Madrid: the Palace of the Marquises of Amboage, current site of the Italian Embassy.
