The Patsos Gorge with Ag. Antonios are famous and well known from Cretan inhabitants. They are spending holidays in this area and as well school classes are doing trips to this area. Geocachers will have fun to do a tour down and up the gorge and see the nice church Ag. Antonios. To help them finding this place was the reason to put a cache into the gorge.
How to find the cache area?
Coming from Rethymno take the way to Patsos / Potami Dam. At WP1 turn to Gorge of Ag. Antonios (Patsos Gorge). In a few minutes later you will arrive the parking area. If you like to do the walk through the gorge as a „Round trip“ turn left after the church and walk over the bridge. This is the most impessive way and some adventures are waiting for the hikers. Yellow dots are leading your way. Please take care and have good shoes because some climbing is necessary. 
In summertime you can walk down the whole gorge but there are no more GPS signals. So we put the cache nearly in the middle of the gorge. To find the container you have to cross a bridge on your way back. After the bridge hold left and follow the steps up.
On your way up you will find the container on the right side of the path. The trees on the "cache area picture" are a big help to find the cache area. The Cache: It is a small one (plastic container) with a logbook, pen and pen sharpener and some items to trade.
On the further way up you can go for the cache „Patsos Watchtower“.
So have fun here and may be after caching you like to do a break at the big taverna beside the parking area.
