Geocache Description:

Located on the Old Mill creek, this is yet another lovely weir… Stumbled across this one by accident whilst doing a nearby cache, and thought, well, that won’t do! This weir needs a cache! By Gosh, I thought I had found them all… Now I want to know how many more there are!

These weirs were built in the 1960’s and 1970’s. As well as measuring water volume flows, they were used to measure hydrological processes in the Cotter catchment and to study the effect of fire on water quality. Amongst others, this weir was built by John Burns – who is now in his 80’s!

This is a simple, single off-set, multi cache! First of all, find the weir at the posted coordinates, answer a few questions, and then find the cache nearby.

To determine GZ:
Using the large numbers on the water depth gauge (in the tank):
5th number down from top = A.BC
8th number down from top = D.EF

And finally, G = number of bolts through the top of the concrete tank +1.

Now, GZ can be found at 35° 22.CGE,  148° 48.BEE

Checksums: S=23, E=46

Please BYO pen.
