Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache and a mini-challenge - an easy one for aeroplane geeks... With this cache we encourage you to log the find and upload a picture of a plane in CPH airport - and we prefer a unique picture. Aim is to get lots of logs and pictures...

Copenhagen Airport CPH (www.cph.dk) is one of the busiest airport in Northern Europe - with more than 250.000 landings and take-offs per year. More than 20 million passengers and 300.000 tonnes of cargo transit through the airport on yearly basis. See much more on (visit link) - available in Danish and English.

Flyvergrillen started in 1972 and has since then been one of the most famous places for plane-spotters. Try to google planespotters - it is a universe of its own. They come here, when they hear about new planes in or out of CPH. At Flyvergrillen they have a collection of model-planes and a large area with a good view of runway 22R/4L. Enjoy a snack, coffee or icecream when spotting planes and seeking caches.

So how do you find a unique aircraft. Like a car's license plate - or a geo-cache GC-code - an aircraft has a registration code. All Danish registered aircrafts have registration OY-something (3 letters). See the databases like airframes.org or airliners.net, if you want to find out more about the aircraft you see - here you find owner and operator, aircraft type and lots of other geeky stuff.

Should you be logging a picture, which it is already there - well, no harm done - it can be hard to see from the distance. Normally the registration is shown under cockpit, under tale, under wing or on hatches for wheels.

On www.flightaware.com you can actually see planes moving in and out of Danish airspace - and others - where the flight is going as well as when it is due at destination (ETA). You can search the aircraft registration code, the flight number or just look at the satelite image of aircrafts near the area.

There has previously been a cache near Flyvergrillen - and we thought a new one should be placed here. It has been placed as our first in the event of international geocaching day 2012. This one is placed near muggler territory, fairly easy to grap and log - but could also give a little bit of challenge.

Cache is a micro, bullet-type, and contains only log-book (so bring a pen or pencil). Be careful replacing the cache.
It is placed so just about anyone can get to it - but use stealth as always. Note there is a cam in the sky at the end of the road, so don't take too long to log...
