Entre Trizay et Saint-Agnant se trouve une grotte constituée de deux segments de galerie au profil ogival : la grotte du Creux-Nègre.
Sa formation est intervenue durant la période géologique du Turonien.
Les parois sont striées de « vagues d'érosion » marquant la direction des écoulements ayant façonné la grotte, il y a environ 90 millions d'années.
