SPIF - 034W Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

SmoothCacher: Thanks to everyone who came and did the trails! I had a great time reading the logs over the last year and hope that you enjoyed finding these caches. Thanks also to petroypa70 for collecting the caches along this section of the trail! This cache has now been archived and there is a brand new blank spot for another adventurous cacher to place one of their ideas or creations in the area. Have fun and cache on!

Geocache Description:

Hello and Welcome to the Stark Pay It Forward Geotrail

A very special thanks goes out to Stark Parks for allowing this trail to be placed.   Without their support, this trail would not be possible! This trail was put out to thank all the other cachers who have placed geocaches for others (like me) to find.

Please note that the trailheads close at 9PM from April thru September and close at 7PM from October thru March. Do not seek caches outside of these hours please.

CACHES:

  • All within 10 Feet of trail
  • All are camouflaged soda bottle preforms.
  • All have their cache name indicating which side of the trail the cache is on, W for West and E for East.
  • All have hints that give very specific instructions as to where the cache is placed since this trail is mostly under canopy and people can experience signal bounce.
  • If you have hunted and are convinced the cache is not there, you have my permission to place a temporary container there and claim the find.   I will go out on the trail and then replace the container with the standard container.
  • These are not intended to be hard caches; but camo in the woods can sometimes be tougher than intended.
  • Each preform tube contains a log sheet with a rollup bar to assist putting the log sheet back into the container.   Please use this to allow the log to remain dry and in good condition.   If you like the rollup bar, please feel free to copy it.

ABOUT THE TRAIL

  • The trail is mostly crushed, compressed gravel and is fairly smooth and flat, with a few bumps and hills.
  • There is poison ivy along this trail and there are some caches close to the ivy.  Please use caution if you are sensitive to the ivy.
  • There are some intersections on this trail and some sections border on private property.   Please use common sense when hunting for these caches.
  • At times, the trail can be busy, so please use some discretion when finding these caches.
  • Some of the terrain has a drop off right next to the trail, so be careful.   I tried to mark all the terrains as accurate as possible.

Parking:

  • You can park at the Ernie’s Bike Shop in Massillon to begin the trail.
  • You can park at St Helena’s in Canal Fulton to end the trail.
  • More information on the trail and parking is available at http://www.starkparks.com/park.asp?park=12&view=3
  • Please cache responsibly, during daylight hours and park only in designated areas.   Let's show that geocachers follow the rules when hunting for the smiley!

Congratulations to Team MeNees on the FTF!
