GeocacheAlaska! Presents: "Puzzle Solving FUNdamentals!"
While a number of board members for GeocacheAlaska! are out of town, some of the remaining members have decided to skip the board meeting and hold a hands-on puzzle solving Eduvent
Meet fellow geocachers, work on unsolved puzzles, and learn about the world of Geocaching Tools on Thursday, August 16, beginning at 5:45 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (Click for map.)
This will be an Event offered in 3 parts
The first part starts at 5:45 to deal with the upfront administrative details and announcements, then continues with time to work on unsolved puzzles.
Do not expect to have your puzzles solved for you, that is not the intent of this event.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. we will reiterate the administrative details for late comers and precisely at 7:00 start the PowerPoint presentation.
After the presentation there should be time for questions and some more hands-on work with your unsolved puzzles.
Tonight's presenters are Roberta Bromlow and Lisa Echard. We welcome Polgera and FlightRiskAK to the podium, where they will run a work shop on how to solve some of the area's trickiest puzzles (with the cache owner's permission, of course!).
Expect a lively performance by this month's hosts who will demonstrate a wide variety tips, tricks, and tools of how to crack the code on mystery caches.
This event will NOT be carried live over the internet via WebEx!
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of the final details. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 7:00 p.m. (or 1900hrs if you prefer). Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers.
There will be a free-will offering cache container at the event to help defray the costs of hosting these FUNdamentals events if you would like to make a donation.
If you have requests for EduVent topics, have a topic that you would like to present to the Alaskan geocaching community, or would like to host future presentations like this one elsewhere in Alaska, please contact Education Committee Chair and GeAK WebMaster, SSO JOAT.
