Geocache Description:

This enormous coastline is made up of a group of beaches, each with its own feel. Nothing separates them except for imaginary lines, with wooden walkways taking you down its 30 kilometers, as does a tourist train during the summer. The most crowded beach is by Caparica town, and is therefore not recommended. Move south and you'll find more seclusion and better beach bars. Two favorites are Praia da Morena and Praia da Sereia, with young crowds filling their bars to see and be seen. The further you go the less crowded it gets, with Fonte da Telha being the favorite among those who don't like to wear anything. That's also a popular beach for kite and windsurfing, while Beach 19 before that is the unofficial gay beach. Further south is Meco, popular with young crowds and nudists. Unlike Cascais and Estoril west of Lisbon, this coast south of the city is not an international resort with grand hotels. It's mostly frequented by locals in the summer, and accommodation is mostly 2-stars, with only a couple of 4-star hotels.

It started out as one of the few nudist beaches in Portugal but is now almost exclusively gay, attracting guys of all ages, but mostly young. Found south of Lisbon by Costa da Caparica, it's quite large and with a beautiful backdrop of nature and dunes, often used for some "secluded moments." It was baptized "19" for being the 19th stop of a tourist train that starts in the town of Costa da Caparica and goes through the coast every day in the summer (from July 1st to September 30th). Tickets are sold on board, and you can buy a two-way ticket. Just remember that it is in service only from 9AM to 7PM so leave the beach in time to avoid becoming stranded or a very, very long walk to Costa da Caparica for the return to Lisbon. Costa da Caparica (and that tourist train) can be reached by train from Lisbon in the summer months but the best way to get to this beach is of course by car, crossing 25 de Abril Bridge and following the signs.

Começou por ser uma das primeiras praias para nudistas em Portugal, mas é agora quase exclusivamente frequentada por gays de todas as idades, mas sobretudo jovens. É uma das praias da Costa da Caparica, é bastante extensa, e com uma bela paisagem de vegetação e dunas, muitas vezes usadas para "momentos privados." O nome deve-se ao fato de ser a paragem número 19 de um pequeno comboio turístico que parte da Costa da Caparica e percorre as praias durante o verão (desde o dia 1 de julho a 30 de setembro). Os bilhetes são comprados ao revisor, e pode pedir um bilhete ida-e-volta. Convém lembrar que o comboio só está em serviço das 9 da manhã às 19h, por isso não perca noção do tempo ou ficará preso na praia ou terá de caminhar durante bastante tempo até chegar ao centro da Costa da Caparica para o regresso a Lisboa. Pode chegar à Costa (e ao seu comboio turístico) de comboio partindo de Lisboa, mas obviamente a forma mais fácil de chegar a esta praia é de carro, atravessando a Ponte 25 de Abril e seguindo as indicações.
