Geocache Description:

On the southern part of the Hincaster Trailway.

The southern section of the Trail follows the branch line as it aims for Heversham, curving away from the main line.  Examine the ground as you go and you will probably see pieces of slag and clinker from ironworks, used for building the track bed, plus more local stone: limestone and some glacial till.  This whole area is lumpy and bumpy with a swarm of drumlins, a mix of erosion and deposition from glacial activity.  Keep an eye out for possible cows along here, by the way, as they can easily access the old line.

The cache is a small plastic bottle please rehide well but don't put heavy rocks on it - clinker is lighter.

Onto no.5
