Geocache Description:

Cacheapalooza 7 will be held in Jonathan Dickinson State Park
January 19, 2013 at the Kitching Creek Pavilion.
THE EVENT WILL LAST FROM 8:00 AM 'til 8:00 PM.
We went MEGA last year...help us achieve MEGA again!
Thank you to all who attended...we couldn't have gone MEGA without you!

Jonathan Dickinson State Park is a Florida State Park and historic site located in Martin County, Florida, between Hobe Sound and Tequesta. The park includes a variety of natural communities, such as sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, mangroves, and river swamps. The Loxahatchee River, which was named a National Wild and Scenic River in 1985 (the first in Florida), runs through the park.

Cacheapalooza 7 will be a fun filled weekend of Geocaching in beautiful and mysterious Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Along with the caching we are also planning many other fun activities and presentations for you to enjoy. We have over 200 new loggable Geocaches hidden in this diverse 11,500 acre park. There will be traditional caches of various difficulty and terrain ratings, and of course other types of cache hides as well.

Special Events planned for Saturday:
- Viva Florida! 500 (years) Celebration Kick Off – Go on an adventure through the River Area of the park and beyond finding clues and solving the puzzle for a Jonathan Dickinson State Park Geocaching non trackable coin commemorating the 500 anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s discovery!

- GPS Accuracy Contest - See how accurately you can find GZ. Prizes awarded for the closest to the true GZ.

- Poker Run - Try your luck and play the Poker Run. 5 caches are easy to get to make a hand, but if you want to improve it, then you'll have to work for it! Prizes awarded to the best hand.

- Photo Scavenger Hunt - See how many of the listed items you can find in the park. Prizes awarded those who find the most.

-JDSP History Lecture - Join us to hear the history of JDSP long before Geocaching. At 3pm @ Kimbell Center, Barry Richardson, JDSP Archaeological Resources Monitor, will give a presentation about the history of Camp Murphy.
