Geocache Description:

Traditional Cache at Pier 15 Park, NYC. Pier is open 6am to Midnight, upper level open 8am to Dusk.

Pier 15 is a part of the newly renovated East River Park. It is located in between Pier 11-Wall St and South Street Seaport. It is very close to the East River Ferry Dock, with lines to Brooklyn, Queens and East Midtown, as well as New Jersey. its not too far from South Ferry, Wall St and Fulton St Subway Stations as well. The Pier was designed by SHoP Architects and Ken Smith Landscape Architects, and has several gardens, seating, bathrooms, a small event space, and an upper level with beautiful panoramic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn and New York Harbor. This is a great place to get a good look at the Tall Ships in South St Seaport. It's really worth seeing even if you're not there for the cache. There is currently a master plan being designed by the same firms that designed this Pier and the waterfront to the south, to renovate the Mall at Pier 17 and the rest of the waterfront north of here up to the Amphitheater in East River Park. For the cache....please be careful to replace it as you found it...use stealth, as this is a high tourist area of the city, every day of the year. CONGRATS to addisonbr for FTF!
