Das Gebäude vor Dir wurde 1845 erbaut und lange Zeit als Militärlazarett genutzt. Von 1936 bis 2005 war es Sitz des Versorgungsamtes. Seit September 2010 ist dort das Landesamt für Geoinformation und Landentwicklung Baden-Württemberg (LGL) -früher Landesvermessungsamt-, Standort Karlsruhe, untergebracht.
Nun noch ein paar Hinweise zum Cache:
Er ist zu jeder Zeit erreichbar und gut zugänglich. Ein Zaun muss nicht überwunden werden! Öffentliche Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es dort leider keine. Der Cache hat drei Besonderheiten:
1. Letterbox Cache
Neben einem Logbuch enthält dieser Cache einen Stempel. Diesen bitte unbedingt im Cache belassen. Damit kannst Du Dein eigenes Logbuch stempeln, und, wenn vorhanden, kannst Du Dich mit Deinem Stempel im Cachelogbuch verewigen.
2. Kontrollpunkt / Checkpoint
Neben dem Cache wurde eine Markierung angebracht, die in Lage und Höhe auf wenige Zentimeter genau eingemessen wurde. Dies wurde mit einem hochgenauen, geodätischen GNSS-Empfänger unter Zuhilfenahme von SAPOS®-Referenzstationsdaten bestimmt.
So kannst Du die Genauigkeit Deines GPS-Empfängers oder Smartphones testen und z.B. Deine Höhenanzeige kalibrieren. Deine Abweichung zum Sollpunkt kannst Du in das Logbuch eintragen und so die Genauigkeit mit der anderer Cacher vergleichen. Eine Genauigkeitsauswertung aller bisherigen Messungen liegt im Cache.
Im Cache findest Du alle Details zur Markierung, sowie die genaue Koordinate mit einer weiteren Nachkommastelle. Das ermöglicht eine Genauigkeitsaussage von ca. 20 cm.
3. Schloss
Der Cache ist durch ein Vorhängeschloss vor Muggels gesichert. Die Zahlenkombination ist die Hausnummer des Gebäudes.
Die Dose bitte mit Deckel voran verstauen, sonst schließt die Tür nicht richtig. Vor dem Verschließen bitte prüfen, ob noch die korrekte Zahlenkombination eingestellt ist. Nach dem Schließen die Zahlen verstellen.

The building in front of you was built in 1845 and has been used as a military hospital for a long time. From 1936 to 2005, the pension office was based here. Since September 2010, the Karlsruhe subsidiary of the State Office for Spatial Information and Land Development Baden-Wuerttemberg (LGL BW) is established there.
Now just a few hints about the cache:
You can reach it easily at any time. You do not need to climb up the fence! Please note that there is no public parking.
The cache has three features:
1. Letterbox Cache
Besides a small logbook, this cache contains a stamp and an ink pad. Please be sure to keep this in the cache. Thus you can stamp your own logbook, and, if available, you can sign the cache logbook with your own stamp.
2. Checkpoint
Nearby the cache a point has been marked and precisely calibrated in position and height. The accuracy of the measurement is a few centimeters. It was stored with a high-precision geodetic GNSS-receiver with the help of SAPOS® reference station data.
So you can check the accuracy of your GNSS-receiver or smartphone and, for example, calibrate the height measurement. You can write your deviation from the checkpoint into the logbook and compare your accuracy with the results of other cachers. Check out the accuracy assessment of all previous measurements in the cache. The cache contains all details of the mark and it's coordinates with an additional decimal place. This allows an accurate statement of approximately 20 cm.
3. Lock
The cache is secured by a combination lock, the combination is the street number. Afterwards please put the box with the top ahead into the cache, otherwise the door will not close properly. Before closing please check the correct combination of numbers and change the numbers after closing.
