How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This multi cache has two stages. The post box is at the first stage and is located outside entrance 4 of the mall. You will be required to do a calculation at this first stage in order to find the final cache at the second stage.

The cache was inspired by similar caches in other South African provinces. We invite other Gauteng cachers to be part of this Series. Should you find a post box in your area, please hide a cache as part of the Series and use the same naming convention, so that these caches can be found easily and as a group.

First Stage:
On the top of the post box you will find 3 digits, after the "W". Lets call these digits X, Y and Z respectively. You will need to solve the following in order to find the coordinates of the final cache:
S26 10.[(Y*Y*Y)+115]
E028 07.[XY(Z-3)]

Please note: You only need to multiply where you see the multiplication sign (*).

Second Stage:
You will need to get to the rooftop parking and use the coordinates that you solved from the first stage in order to find the final cache. You can either find your way through the mall or you can drive around to the rooftop parking.
