Park City began as a stage stop along the Mosquito Pass Road and eventually grew when a railroad spur ran through the town on its way to the London Mill and Mines. At its peak, Park City had a population of 300, but like many mining settlements it fell into disuse after the mining busts. Today, Park City is along the popular route over Mosquito Pass and for the annual pack burro race during Burro Days. Park City also hosts the signage declaring when the pass is open for travel…at your own risk!
