Shernborne church is on the site of East Anglia's second oldest chapel and the modern church of today was rebuilt by the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII. Norman font of St Peter and Paul's church was restored in 1998 by Edward VII who at the time was Prince of Wales. The church houses one of the best Norman fonts in the county. Its square bowl stands on four columns and the bowl has intricate carvings depicting animal heads at the base. A brass dating from 1458, affixed to the chancel north wall, depicts Sir Thomas de Shernborne and his wife Johanna . The church is Grade II listed.
