Parcul Sub Arini (Erlenpark) from Sibiu is one of the oldest parks in Romania having been founded in 1856.


The dam was built in 1859 and the bridge over the Trinkbach stream is built a year later. The "Unter den Erlen" Restaurant (Bolta Rece) opened in 1865. Starting with 1881 the park was under the administration of the Society for the embellishment of the city which continued the activity of tree planting. The greenhouse was built in 1883 and the first water fountain was placed here in 1894.
The music gazebo used by the military fanfare which sustained performances here every Sunday was made in 1898 and in 1904 the electric street lighting was introduced here.
At the present the park stretches over 22 hectares on which 68 tree species, among which 30 exotic species and 38 local species. A number of 95 species of birds found shelter in this scenery.

[RO] Parcul Sub Arini din Sibiu este unul dintre cele mai vechi parcuri din România fiind înfiinţat în 1856. În 1859 este construit digul iar un an mai târziu podul peste pârâul Trinkbach. În 1865 s-a deschis restaurantul Sub Arini (Bolta Rece). Din 1881 parcul s-a aflat în grija Societăţii pentru înfrumuseţarea oraşului care a continuat acţiunea de plantare de copaci. În 1883 este construită sera iar prima fântână arteziană s-a realizat în 1894. În 1898 a fost construit Pavilionul de muzică folosit de fanfara militară care concerta aici în fiecare duminică, iar în 1904 s-a introdus iluminatul electric.
În prezent parcul are 22 de hectare pe care cresc peste 68 specii lemnoase, dintre care 30 exotice si 38 autohtone. În acest decor îsi găsesc adăpostul aproximativ 95 specii de păsări.

1856 angelegt, ist der Erlenpark ist einer der ältesten Parks des heutigen Rumänien.1859 wird der Damm gebaut, ein Jahr später die Brücke über den Trinkbach. 1865 wurde das Gasthaus „Unter den Erlen” (Bolta Rece) eröffnet. Ab 1881 befindet sich der Park in der Pflege des Hermannstädter Verschönerungsvereins, der die Anpflanzung von Bäumen fortsetzt. 1883 wird das Glashaus errichtet, 1894 der erste Springbrunnen. 1898 wird der Musikpavillion erbaut, wo die Militärkapelle sonntags konzertierte. Ab 1904 wird der Park elektrisch beleuchtet.
Gegenwärtig dehnt sich der Park über eine Fläche von 22 Hektar aus, mit 68 Gehölzarten, davon 38 einheimische und 30 exotische. Hier nisten etwa 95 Vogelarten.

[HU] A nagyszebeni Erlenpark (Erlen=égerfa) az egyik legrégebbi park a mai Románia területén, 1856-ban hozták létre. A gát 1859-ben épült, majd egy évvel később a híd a Trinkbach felett. Az "Unter den Erlen" étterem (Bolta Rece) 1865-ben nyitotta meg kapuit. 1881-tól a park a Városszépítő Társaság irányítása alatt volt, amely folytatta a faültetést. Az üvegház 1883-ban épült majd 1894-ben az első szökőkút. 1898-ban hozták létre a zenepavilont ahol a katonazenekar muzsikált minden vasárnap. 1904-ben elektromos utcai világítást vezettek be a parkba.
Jelenleg a park több mint 22 hektáron terül el, amelyen 68 fafaj van, 30 egzotikus és 38 helyi. A park körülbelül 95 féle madárfajnak ad otthont.
A park hangulata különös, a zenepavilonban nyáron rendszeresen koncerteket és eloadásokat tartanak. Akik aktív pihenésre vágynak, azok a park 6 kilométeres bicikliútját vehetik igénybe.
