EN: Orebić is a small town on Pelješac peninsula, once the very important nautical centre. During the 19th century, Orebić had 17 of the most important nautical captains in Austria-Hungary Empire.
If you walk along the coast of Orebić, you will notice many monumental houses with big shady gardens, those houses mostly belonged to prominent captains and important noblemen of those times.
In these days, tourism is the main activity of the natives, there are many beautiul pebble beaches along the coast (Korčula, across the channel, has mostly rocky coast).

HR: Orebić je mali gradić na Pelješkom poluotoku, nekoć vrlo značajan grad moreplovaca. U 19-om stoljeću, Orebić je dao 17 najznačajnijih pomorskih kapetana u Austro-Ugarskoj Monarhiji.
Ako prošetate obalom Orebića, vidjet ćete mnogo monumentalnih kuća s ogromnim sjenovitim vrtovima, te kuće su većinom pripadale poznatim pomorskim kapetanima i ondašnjim bogatašima.
U današnje doba, turizam je glavna aktivnost domaćih ljudi, postoje mnoge šljunčane plaže uz obalu (za razliku od Korčule preko puta, čije je obala većinom stjenovita)
