Geocache Description:

Sand Creek originates from Old Baldy Mountain located in the Northern Black Hills and meanders its way northward past several gulches and intermittent streams. As it picks up in volume, it creates beautiful falls and pools. This is a great place to explore or relax and enjoy the abundant nature that it provides. As always, caution is advised near creeks in spring time and after heavy rains. There are two creek crossings to get to the cache, both easy to navigate across safely.

We hope you enjoy this area as much as our family, please CITO so that others can enjoy. This cache was hidden on pivate property with the owners permission (Mr. Dan Hart). Part of the adventure to geocaching is getting there. We have provided some driving directions on graveled roads and parking coordinates for both Low Profile and High Profile vehicles that might make it easier for you to arrive safely. Near I-90, take USFS 801 (Boundary Gulch) south for 7.5 miles, at marker 12, turn north west onto USFS 869.1 for 1.1 miles, then turn south onto USFS 865.1 to parking coordinates. The graveled roads are well maintained except for the last .5 miles. The cache is a small type military ammo container, letter box style cache, please does not take the stamp. Check out the gallery, you won’t be disappointed, Happy Geocaching! Congratulations 'blazyranch' on First to Find, Happy Geocaching!
