Geocache Description:

A traditional cache sited at a point of interest.
Some modern ruins amongst older and still older ruins.

I came across this on a rainy day wondering well off the path. This was obviously a fairly modern corrugated shed built amongst much older stone walls belonging to the local ruined Deancombe Farm, in turn amongst a Bronze Age settlement at the head of the Narrator Valley. Plenty of history here, along with great views back down to Burrator.

Originally this cache was placed as I didn't know what the trough originally was - that's now been answered, it was a sheep dip! This may be several feet deep so be careful if you have small children with you.

The cache is not in any of the stone walls and is placed according to the Dartmoor National Park Geocaching Guidelines.
