Geocache Description:

I hope you did not think I was going to make it that easy for you!

Even though you had multiple opportunities to catch me two months ago, you felt the need to save your precious friend instead. Let us see how you fare this time around in a different area with new things to explore.

Who writes in white text, anyway?

Be at the posted coordinates at
10 of the clock on the morning of October 20th.

Those who are able should meet at the posted coordinates but launch no sooner than 10am. Should you move away from shore before that, you may regret it. Those who are not up to the task, may watch from the shore at Dunton Park and await what the water-bound provide. Meeting coordinates for the less-worthy are N 42° 47.827 W 86° 07.117. A waypoint has been created. Bring what you will but you may need this:

This event's breakdown:

At 10am, you were notified that there was a "dummy" on the water to rescue. I warned you all that launching early would have consequences and AddHam became a prime example...negating the need for a decoy. Watching from shore, I saw you decided to toy with the victim a little. Well done.

At the posted coordinates a buoy was attached to your only clue, a Travel Bug symbol without a code. Your group figured out that I had posted a note on the travel bug AddHam has on his kayak with coordinates to the next stage.

Next, while the motorboat crew was getting stuck in the mud, the rest of the group made their way to the end of the pier where they found instructions that spelled out their next task.

In the container there were 2 envelopes and a note. Each envelope contained coordinates to three legs of the task before you. Each leg had to be completed in order to find the final puzzle piece. Here is how those legs broke down:

The Water-Bound Leg

The first stage was almost a mile up river where the group had to find a bison tube within 75 feet of the coordinates among the tall grasses of the island. That then led them to a tree climb at another location. That then led them to the final where they picked up a triangle puzzle piece and this note:

The High-Terrain Leg:

This group had to make their way to the other end of the lake and bury their heads in the sand to find the first stage. Those coordinates then took them to a dead tree climb and then on to the final in the stump at the other end of that park. The final there also provided them with a piece of the triangle and the exact same note as the rest of the groups.

The Easy-Terrain Leg

This group had it the easiest of the bunch. And probably the most boring. The first stage was at the base of a tree near the dunes. The next stage was hopefully the most annoying since they had to drive all the way around the lake just for a micro in a pine tree. Then they had to drive all the way back around the lake to Dunton park again where they received the triangle and the same note with coordinates to the meeting place.

The Final Location

Once the groups came together they made quick work of the clue at the bottom of each note. (Even without the last group who made it just in time to see everyone working on the triangle puzzle) The 6 from the three notes made an evil 666, which referred to some existing graffiti painted onto the tree that jomber had to climb to retrieve the coordinates. Those coordinates took you to the bridge you crossed on the way in where the 4th and last triangle piece waited.

Combined, the triangle pieces formed this:

This was translated using the ECN code provided above on this page. Soon, the group had the coordinates to the final only to find a note and a dummy tied up in the woods. The note you found was this:
