[JLX.39] BKT II #3# Traditional Geocache

In un territorio ricco di contrasti come la Liguria, stretta tra le montagne ed il mare, il Parco del Beigua - il più vasto parco naturale regionale della Liguria - costituisce uno spaccato esemplare della regione ove è possibile trovare, nel percorrere tratti anche di breve sviluppo, ambienti e paesaggi decisamente diversificati: uno spettacolare balcone formato da montagne che si affacciano sul mare dove natura, storia, cultura e antiche tradizioni costituiscono elementi di straordinario pregio ed interesse.

PREMESSA

Si tratta di un percorso trekking, inaugurato in occasione dell'evento [GZ] GeoPicNic@Gava , con lo scopo di soddisfare i geocacher-escursionisti più esigenti.

E' stato infatti realizzato per coloro che ritengono il suo gemello non abbastanza duro. Rappresenta la via più diretta per raggiungere il Passo del Faiallo ed il Monte Reixa. Scorciatoia dopo scorciatoia sale rapidamente fino al Passo della Gava, riducento notevolmente i tempi. Attualmente è ancora in fase iniziale ma si auspica di estenderlo a breve fino al Faiallo, Reixa, sua naturale evoluzione.

Per i dispositivi mobili (smartphone e tablet) è disponibile la GeoM&M mobile app. L'applicazione è compatibile con qualsiasi dispositivo ma richiede un abbonamento ad internet.

I cache non sono nascosti secondo un criterio puramente casuale: alcuni sono collocati in punti caratteristici per il panorama o per gli aspetti naturalistici, altri in prossimità di bivi, al fine di aiutare ad orientarsi fra i vari sentieri che, in ogni caso, sono ben indicati. Impossibile perdersi se si ha ben chiara la meta.

Parcheggiata l'auto in uno dei pochi spazi liberi o nel parcheggio a pagamento del Santuario Gesù bambino di Praga, si imbocca Viale Marconi. Superato il ponte dell'autostrada, a metà della salita, si incontra la ripida scalinata (waypoint T1) da dove parte il vero sentiero per il Passo del Faiallo, contrassegnato da due pallini rossi pieni.

La scalinata sbocca in Via Gasca che, dopo un paio di curve conduce all'inizio della strada sterrata (waypoint T2). Da qui le cose inziano subito a complicarsi: di fronte appare una vera e propria collina da "scalare". Il sentiero, totalmente roccioso, si sviluppa in direzione quasi diretta verso il Pian del Curlo, ed è totalmente esposto al sole. E' consigliabile tenere sempre gli occhi a terra per vedere dove si mettono i piedi e distinguere il sentiero. In caso di difficoltà basta seguire le frecce bianche unitamente alla "M", bianca anch'essa.

Arrivati in cima alla collina, ci aspetta la prima cache (BKT II #1#)a ricompensarci della fatica ed invitandoci a prendere un po' di fiato. Riposizionato il cache, si riparte, scegliendo il sentiero a sinitra per raggiungere il Curlo ed oltrepassare il cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #3#. Giunti esattamente in prossimità del cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #4#, si imbocca la scorciatoia, in parte ombreggiato (seguite sempre i due pallini rossi), che taglia il percorso gemello fino a raggiungere il Ricovero Liseu (attenzione perché è pericolante; non entrate!), dove si trova la seconda cache (BKT II #2#) .

Fatta abbondante scorta di acqua, si riparte per la salita rocciosa ma questa volta più ampia, al termine della quale il percorso si fa più pianeggiante e consente di godere in tranquillità di una spettacolare vista sul golfo ligure; il porto di Arenzano sulla destra (BKT II #3#) e quello di Genova, poco più avanti, guardando il mare, sulla sinistra (BKT II #4#).

Si prosegue fino al Passo della Gavetta (BKT II #5#) dove il paesaggio cambia radicalmente. Proseguendo dritto, si giunge al Passo della Gava (GC33C8V) attraverso la cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #9#.


AVVERTENZE E RACCOMANDAZIONI

1) RICOLLOCAZIONE DEL CACHE

Il percorso è oggetto di frequente manutenzione tuttavia, considerato l'ambiente naturale in cui sono nascosti, è facile incorrere in perdite o esposizioni eccessive ai geomuggles. Si prega pertanto di riporre gli stessi esattamente come indicato dalla freccia nelle foto spoiler.

2) LOG

Per consentire un'agevole lettura da parte dei geocacher successivi, si prega di scrivere il log esteso relativo all'intero percorso direttamente nella cache nr 1; si eviterà così di controllare i log nei listing di ogni cache. A scopo puramente statistico, si invita ad indicare anche il tempo di percorrenza (solo andata). Preparate un cartello formato A4 con il vostro nickname che userete una volta giunti a fine percorso per una bella foto con voi come protagonisti. Sarà molto gradita! Mi raccomando: SIATE ORIGINALI!

3) ATTREZZATURA

Non è richiesta un'attrezzatura particolare. Si consiglia un ottimo paio di scarponi da trekking sufficientemente alti a garantire il massimo comfort alle caviglie, abbondanti scorte di acqua (in base alla stagione è possibile attingere acqua dalle fonti lungo il cammino), un berretto e crema di protezione solare.

4) PERICOLO VIPERE

Gli escursionisti dovrebbero saperlo ma la precauzione non è mai troppa. Il pericolo esiste ed è concreto, soprattutto in estate. Si invita a prestare la massima attenzione nel momento del prelievo e del riposizionamento del cache.

5) PARCO DEL BEIGUA E STAGIONE VENATORIA IN LIGURIA

Il parco è area protetta e, pertanto, non è ammessa la caccia. Il percorso, fatta eccezione per le cache #1# e #2#, si sviluppa nel parco e, per tale motivo, è sempre percorribile in ogni periodo dell'anno in totale sicurezza.

6) GEOCACHER A QUATTRO ZAMPE

Il percorso è adatto anche a loro se agili e sufficientemente allenati.

THE BEIGUA PARK

In a land full of contrasts such as Liguria, wedged between the mountains and the sea, the Beigua Park - the largest regional natural park of Liguria - is an exemplary cross-section of the region where you can find, even short stretches along the development, very different landscapes and environments: a spectacular balcony formed by mountains that overlook the sea where nature, history, culture and ancient traditions are elements of extraordinary merit and interest. The CDT (Center of Regional Services Beigua Park) provides services for a fee, transportation and accompaniment, made with qualified personnel (environmental and hiking guides) that has been working in the Park.

This is a trekking route, inaugurated on the occasion of the event Geomare& Monti 2011, in order both to satisfy geocachers and to orient hikers, in the hope that they can get passionate about the geocaching too.

The path got maintenance and was partially redesinged to make it an easier way for geocachers. From the GeoM&M website it is possible to download the GeoM&M black trail II pack (trail guide, passport, spoilers in 900x764px format, gpx).

For mobile devices (smartphonse and tablets) is available the GeoM&M mobile app. It is compatible with any device but it requires an flat internet connection.

The caches are not hidden in a purely random: some are placed in strategic points for the landscape or its natural features, others in the vicinity of junctions, in order to help finding their way through the various paths that, in any case, are well indicated. You cannot get lost if you have a very clear goal. Park the car in one of the few open spaces or in the toll parking area and reach the Tower of the Saracens, from where starts the paved path.


THE ROUTE

Park your car in one of the few free parking or the toll one of th Shrine of Infant Jesus of Prague and take Via Marconi. After crossing the bridge, halfway up the hill, you come to the steep staircase (waypoint T1) from where starts the true path to Pass Faiallo, marked by two filled red dots.

The staircase leads to Via Gasca which, after a couple of curves, leads to the top of the dirt road (waypoint T2). From here things get immediately complicated: the forehead, a real hill "to climb". The trail, totally rocky, extends in the direction almost directly to the Pian del Curlo, and is fully exposed to the sun. You should keep your eyes on the ground to see where you put your feet and distinguish the path. In case of difficulty just follow the white arrows together with the "M", also white.

On the top of the hill, is waiting for us the first cache (BKT II #1#) to reward your fatigue and inviting to take a breath. Replace the cache and choose the path on the right to reach Curlo and cross the cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #3#. Next to cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #4#, take the shortcut, partly shaded (just follow the two red filled dots), cutting the twin trail up to Liseu shelter (pay attention because it is falling down; do not enter!), where you can find the second cache (BKT II #2#) .

With the abundant supply of water, let's start again to climb the new rocky path but this time it is larger. Then the route becomes more flat and let us enjoy the spectacular view of the Ligurian gulf, the port of Arenzano on the right (BKT II #3#) and that one of Genova, a little forward, looking at the sea, on the left (BKT II #4#).

Go ahead up to Pass of Gavetta (BKT II #5#) where the landscape changes dramatically. Continuing straight, you reach the Pass of Gava (GC33C8V) through cache [JLX] GeoM&M black trail #9#.

1) REPOSITIONING THE CACHE

The route is subject to frequent maintenance, however, considered the natural environment in which they are hidden, it is easy to incur losses or excessive exposure to geomuggles. So please put exactly the same as indicated by the arrow in the spoilers.

2) LOGS

To an easier reading for the following geocacher, we recommend to write directly an extended log connectedo to the whole trail in cache n. 1. It will avoid a waist of time in readint every cache listing. For a statistical purposes only, please also indicate your travel time (one way). Prepare an A4 size sign with your nickname that you will use once you get to the end location for a nice picture of you. It will be very welcome! BE ORIGINAL!

3) EQUIPMENT

it is not required a specifi equipment. We advice a great pair of trekking shoes, high enough to grant a perfect elbow comfort, adequate supply of drinks (depending on the season it is possibile to drink water from the several sources along the path), hat and solar protection.

4) VIPER DANGER

Hikers should know this but the precaution is never enough. The danger exists and is real, especially in summer. You are encouraged to pay close attention at the time of retrieving and the repositioning of the cache.

5) BEIGUA PARK AND HUNTING SEASON IN LIGURIA

The park is a protected area and, therefore, is not permitted to hunt. The path, except for the cache #1# and #2#, is developed in the park, and for that reason, it is always practicable during the whole year with confidence.
