Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to a terrific beach and fun tidepools in San Pedro.

We came down to Cabrillo Beach intending to find Sunken City Cache and had a great time scrambling around the boulders, but were eventually defeated by landslides and steep hillsides near our destination.  So you might say we got off to a "rocky" start; hence the name of this cache.  We carry a few ready-to-place caches with us and this spot was so nice it really deserved another.

(BTW further review of the area around Sunken City Cache using Google Maps shows we probably missed the path up.  We probably just had to go down the beach a little farther.  So if you come to find this cache, you might give Sunken City a try too.  There are several other caches nearby; you can use Cabrillo Beach parking as a base camp and enjoy hiking around the area to pick them up.)

Replacement cache placed 1/3/2014: The new cache is in the same location as before. It's a little smaller than the old one: you're now looking for a camo'd pill container instead of a PVC tube. This is now a log-only cache and please BYOP.

GPSr reception near the GZ is spotty due to reflection off the rocks (again, what else?).  The GZ coordinates are an average of 3 readings over 10 minutes.
