Geocache Description:

The Cotter Pumping station (which still supplies lots of Canberra’s water) was built in 1915. But it wasn’t until complaints from Mr Pike (the Pump Station master), that a cottage was built for him next to the pump house. The cottage was completed in 1927.

Alas, other than the front door, the fireplace and the chimney, not much remains. I can only guess that it burnt down at some stage, but luckily the pumping station survived! What remains today has been reinforced, and serves as a reminder of days gone by.

Please BYO pen.
