Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
As this location is a military gravesite, please remember proper courtesy when caching here. The cache is a small container, able to hold small trade items or trackables, although there is nothing but a logbook to start it out. I had space to park a vehicle along with a medium trailer entirely off of the road, but turn around space is limited.
At these coordinates you will find a memorial to an unknown soldier who was burried near here by area residents in 1883. It is believed to be a Private Nathan Short, sent by the remnants of the 7th Calvary with a message informing of General Custer's disaster suffered at the Little Bighorn Battlefield about 70 miles from here. The memorial is a Historical Marker, placed in cooperation between residents and the State of Montana.
NOTE: Make sure to sign the cache logbook, as online "Found It" logs without a corresponding entry in the logbook will be deleted.
