Geocache Description:

It's about a one mile loop around the Villa Nova Park, including a wooden bridge. This Wherigo cartridge will take you through a story as you follow the path around. The start point is located at the edge of the parking lot. (the lot currently is not in great shape, but is still usable) Park is open sunrise to sunset.

This cartridge will play the story of the Three Princesses and guide you around this lovely park.  Most of the path around is paved (although there are some parts where roots are ruining the pavement). A small segment can be mud covered, and even flooded at times (there is a "tow path" around it).

NOTE!!! It appears the sign that you need to get information from is directly behind a port-a-pot. Make sure you remember to get the information you need from the sign first.

The cartridge for this cache can be downloaded here.

You are strongly encouraged (consider it required!) to bring something to write on and with, as you will need to record some information to gather the final coordinates for the Princesses' treasure. Just to be clear, the final "zone" in this cartridge is NOT the location of the cache. As you go along, you will get values to put together to give you the final coordinates where you will find the cache in the park. Some people have commented that they didn't see the values coming up. Depending on which Wherigo player you use, you may need to scroll down!

Since this is my first Wherigo Cartridge, please let me know if there are any problems with playing it, corrections needed, etc. Some devices that can play Wherigo Cartridges include the Garmin Oregon and Colorado lines of GPS receivers. There are also free Wherigo players available for Androids and iPhones.

The container includes some SWAG for trading, especially for young princesses, and a small tupperware container with a pin for the FTF. (The tupperware is part of the FTF prize, it could be used as a future cache as well!)

In the initial cartridge, I forgot to generate a completion code. I uploaded a new cartridge on 5/13/2014 that will generate the code. NOTE: if you get over 15 characters in your completion code, the code probably won't take when you attempt to unlock the cartridge. Try using only the first 15 characters. (A bug in the Wherigo system)

IMPORTANT!!! This information is displayed on one of the first few pages, but you have to scroll down to see it. However, several people have missed it, and if you miss this, then the whole cartridge is meaningless. Therefore I'm reproducing it here for your records. Mark ye well the numbers upon the sign. Feet: WXYZ. Miles: T.UV. The treasure lies at N39° 21.ABC W76° 44.DEF

Another important update: Several people had noted that going directly from the end of the Wherigo cartridge to the cache location involved going through some swampy conditions. Looks like the land conditions in the park have deteriorated. So after you finish the cartridge and have the final coordinates in hand, you might want to go to the other side of the loop before you plug in the coords and start following the arrow. Somewhere to the south of the bridge. You'll probably want to stay on the path until your arrow is pointing about 90 degrees off to one side or another.
