A cache near Ammoudi beach.
Μια κρύπτη κοντά στην παραλία Αμμούδι.
Ammoudi isa wonderful beach between Plakias and Lefkogia, not much affected by the winds. It is slightly organized with sunbeds and umbrellas that do not interfere much with the natural environment. A tavern and rooms to let are available in the area but the place in general is good for relaxation. It offers thick white sand and a rocky seabed, ideal for snorkeling. Next to the beach there are several tamarisk trees, offering shade and a place to camp.
To get there, you have to take the main road from Rethymnon to Plakias and turn at the given waypoint. There is aroad sign there, too.
The cache is hidden among rocks to the east of the beach. To find it you can follow an existing path for 10 minutes but you’d better wear good shoes.
The cache is a plastic container with a logbook, a pen and some goodies to trade. Please, hide it well again!
Το Αμμούδι είναι μια θαυμάσια, προστατευμένη από τους ανέμους,παραλία ανάμεσα στον Πλακιά και τα Λευκόγεια. Διαθέτει λίγες ξαπλώστρες και ομπρέλες που, παραδόξως, δεν ενοχλούν ιδιαίτερα το περιβάλλον. Εκεί κοντά υπάρχει ταβέρνα και ενοικιαζόμενα δωμάτια, είναι όμως ήσυχα γενικά. Η παραλία είναι αμμώδης και η θάλασσα βραχώδης, ιδανικός για εξερεύνηση με μάσκα. Υπάρχουν και αρκετά αρμυρίκια, όπου μπορεί κανείς να βρει σκιά και μέρος για κατασκήνωση.
Για να πάτε εκεί, παίρνετε το δρόμο από Ρέθυμνο προς Πλακιά και στρίβετε στο σχετικό σημείο. Υπάρχει και σχετική πινακίδα..
Η κρύπτη είναι τοποθετημένη κάτω από βράχους στα ανατολικά της παραλίας. Για να τη βρείτε, ακολουθείστε το υπάρχον μονοπάτι για 10 λεπτά, αλλά καλό είναι να φοράτε κλειστά παπούτσια.
Η κρύπτη είναι ένα πλαστικό τάπερ με στυλό, μπλοκάκι και ψιλοπράγματα για ανταλλαγή. Μην αμελήσετε να την ξανακρύψετε προσεκτικά!
