Engure Lighthouse is located on the Mary's hill. Legend tells that under this hill was a huge cellar, where was imprisoned a baron's daughter with Swedish officer. Best way to go to the lighthouse is along the road that leads behind the cafe ''Kapteinis Grants'', where also you can comfortably park the car and enjoy a delicious food in summer. Then on the way to the lighthouse you can enjoy a nice walk. Along the way, is a bridge that goes over the river called Vecupe. Vecupe is an artificial river at the time of Duke Jacob (1642-1682). It was iron manufactory for 80 years. Vecpue was a transport route. It connected the Engure lake to the sea until 1842, when the water level dropped, because Mērsraga canal was made. Next, go towards the sea and the rest coordinates will tell you.
