Esta cache tem como finalidade dar a conhecer um dos sítios mais bonitos de Vila do Conde.
O Forte de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, também referido como Forte de São João Baptista, localiza-se na foz do rio Ave, na freguesia e concelho de Vila do Conde, no distrito do Porto, em Portugal.
Atualmente em bom estado de conservação, encontra-se aberto à visitação turística.
A estrutura apresenta planta pentagonal com baluartes também pentagonais nos vértices, em estilo Vauban. As muralhas são de cantaria em talude, rematadas por parapeitos verticais. Em três dos cinco baluartes, erguem-se guaritas de planta quadrangular.
Em torno da praça de armas, ao abrigo das muralhas, distribuem-se os edifícios de serviço: Casa de Comando, Quartel da Tropa, Paiol e Armazém. No centro da Praça abre-se uma cisterna. Nos vértices localizam-se as rampas que permitem o acesso da artilharia aos baluartes.

This cache is aimed to show one of the most beautiful places in Vila do Conde.
The Fort of Our Lady of the Assumption, also referred to as Fort St John the Baptist, located at the mouth of the river Ave, in the parish and municipality of Vila do Conde, in the district of Porto, Portugal.
Currently in good condition, is open to tourist visits.
The structure has a pentagonal plan with bastions at the corners, also pentagonal, Vauban style. The walls are sloping masonry, surmounted by vertical parapet. In three of five bulwarks, stand sentry quanrangular boxes.
Around the parade ground, under the walls, are distributed the service buildings: House of Command, Headquarters Troop, Warehouse and Storage of gunpowder. In the center of the square a tank opens. At the vertices are located ramps that allow access to the ramparts of artillery.
