Geocache Description:

Views of stony outcrops from the cache. This is where we had trouble getting on right track. This is the info we had : Head across the field towards the tor in the distance, passing just above the marshy patch in the right-hand corner of the field. We had to make use of gaps that were available in the fencing. Knowing what we know now ; if you are able climb over the gate.

PLEASE NOTE: this log that has been submitted and it would be very useful information for future cachers. So here it is The farmer has taken down all the signpost to and from his land, very naughty. It is very difficult to find a way through,he's even put barbed wire on the top of the very high stile, thank goodness we didn't take the dogs. Then later on the path hasn't been maintained and wire fencing has been put across it and the signpost has been uprooted and put on it's side. However if you go through the hedge to the right into the black horses field and immediately turn left into the corner you can get over the wire on top of the wall. You can see the bridge and on the floor in front of you the signpost on the ground. At that spot if you look over the wall exactly opposite the bridge are stone steps sticking out the wall,an easy route down to the river where you can cross to the bridge.Hope this helps.Someone should inform the Rambling association,I'm from a farming family and it's now an obligation to keep rights of way open ! Finally after that assault course which took us ages we found the cache.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan here and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
