An urban cache in downtown Carlisle, in the semi-pedestrianised town centre.....
To mark the first game for England in the football European Championship in June 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, here's a cache in anticipation of England winning their first major tournament since the World Cup back in the 1960s.
Of course, during June 2012 this cache might seem a great idea, but from then on it will no doubt be a sad reminder of yet another failure (or maybe even a prophetic insight!!)
WARNING: this street is only semi-pedestrianised, so if you are wondering around in circles, head down, following the arrow of your GPS, remember you are on a road that some cars, motorbikes and lorries use. Even though certain vehicles can use the street, bicycles are NOT allowed to, despite having special places to put them further up the road! MMMmmm, mix up in town planning departments I think. This is definately not a cycle-friendly cache....
The hint is ESSENTIAL, so don't leave home without it, otherwise you WILL NOT be able to find the cache!
UPDATE FEBRUARY 2014:
This cache always has issues with the logsheet, and I would have archived it if it wasn't getting over 50% Favourite Points, so have changed the logsheet which is now about 10 times bigger! But be careful, this is still like a mini-nano, the logsheet MUST BE ROLLED TIGHTLY AND PUT IN THE STRAW BEFORE REPLACING, or it won't work for the next person. Don't even need tweezers if its put back properly! And PLEASE only sign on one space to be considerate to other finders.... there is no room for a pen so BYO
UPDATE MAY 2014:
The new logsheet system is working well, even seems to stay dry, but some finders have commented that the logsheet is missing. It is still there, but might not be visible at first, just needs a bit of a tap and it should come out, just remember to roll it tight to insert it inside the straw before replacing
