Geocache Description:

Jezerca so kotanje s površino nekaj kvadratnih metrov in globine do 1,2 m.
Lovrenška jezera so naravna in turistična znamenitost Pohorja.

Obe poti sta dobro označeni z markacijami.

The Lovrenc Lakes are the most interesting amongst the lakes found at the kilometre long and 300m wide Lovrenc moor, which some also call the Lovrenc Lakes. This moor consists of two areas separated only by a narrow strip of spruces. Each includes 10 peat-lakes, the windows of the moor. The lakes cover 16 ha between Planinka (1392m asl.) and Mulej’s Peak (1533m asl.) in the upper area of the Radoljna, Mislinja and Velka Streams. The lakes are hollows, up to 1.2m deep, and cover a few square meters. After abandoning the pasture, they are overgrowing with dwarf pine, which transitions into a spruce forest on both sides of the moor, where the terrain is steeper and water flows more easily. There are between 11 and 22 lakes, depending on the amount of still water and on how long it lasts. The highest lake lies at 1529m above sea level and the lowest at 1517m. A wooden observation tower is constructed next to the highest lake. High altitude makes it possible for moors in Pohorje to magically conjure up landscape characteristics from moors and marshes in northern Europe. These moors may be found at various locations in the Alps at similar altitudes, but our marshes on Pohorje are, together with those on Pokljuka and Jelovica, the most southern marshes of their kind in Europe and are therefore special.
The Lovrenc Lakes are a natural tourist attraction of Pohorje.

From the hotel Rogla (P1) leads a well marked and easy path. Access is also possible from "Koca na Pesku" (P2). Both routes are well marked with markings and signposts "Lovrenska jezera".
