Geocache Description:

This trail is brought to you by the North Star GeoSeekers.

Welcome to the

The Paul Bunyan Trail is currently the longest paved bike trail in the state of Minnesota at 112 miles.
For more information about the Paul Bunyan Trail, its history and future, visit www.paulbunyantrail.com.

This is the first geocache from the Brainerd trailhead. Parking is near the Northland Arboretum (waypoint coordinates listed below). You will take a short, paved trail from the lot over to the actual Paul Bunyan Trail.

Please post all of your stories, photos, and other notes of your Paul Bunyan Trail journey to this page to share with others.

Most importantly, have fun! Thanks for visiting!

Please obey all posted rules on and around the trail. There are many houses dispersed along the trail, use stealth. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the trail (exception: snowmobiles).

Make sure you plan appropriately for the amount of time you may be gone. Do you have water? Are you prepared for the probable weather? Are you wearing appropriate shoes? Are you prepared to combat ticks, thorns, and poison ivy? Although you will be passing many towns on the trail, you may run into cell phone reception issues at times.

Most of these geocaches are Winter friendly. If you plan on finding in the Winter, plan on snowmobiling. It would be dangerous to walk. It is not groomed for skiing. Make sure you pull your sled completely off the trail when stopping. Watch for other snowmobiles when on the trail.
For more info on the trail during the Winter, visit here.
