Located on Garden Island, south of Valcour Island in Lake Champlain. Once you get there, you'll know why we also call it Poop Island. Say hello to the seagulls for us!! A really cool island either way.
We placed this cache using a kayak. This is probably the easiest way to get to this. A kayak can be beached easily on the north side of the island, but you will need to climb up some rocks (not cliffs) to get to the cache. Motorboaters will need to get out of their boats to swim or leap to shore. Just a short paddle from New York-a bit longer from Vermont.
We encourage everybody who finds this cache to try to find some of the caches on Valcour Island. We also challenge you to place a cache in the Plattsburgh/Peru area. (We need new caches).
Please, for the love of geocaching, replace exactly as found. Do not attempt to remove the entire container, just take the bottom off, but don't lose the rubber seal or else it won't be waterproof anymore.
Congrats to snowfreak37 for the FTF!! And the camo duct tape is much appreciated! It was nice to hear the funny story of signing the log.
