The Mequon-Thiensville Dam at Thiensville Village Park is a true treasure of Ozaukee County.
Bringing the fish back home
Visit one of the most dramatic pieces of the Milwaukee River Watershed Fish Passage Program. The project enables fish to migrate to historic spawning-rearing areas upstream of the dam. This will bolster fish populations and increase recreational angling opportunities in the Milwaukee River, its estuary and tributary streams, as well as Lake Michigan.
After checking out the fish passage, make your way down the river-walk to where the old saw mill use to be. The cache is hidden somewhere between the walkway and the river, on park property. Do not cross the fence that is north of the walkway or west of ground zero! Be sure to replace the cache so none of the container is showing and bring your own pen! Hours for all Village of Thiensville Parks are dawn to dusk. A special thank you goes to Andy Lafond, Director of Public Works - Thiensville for granting permission and helping with the placement of this cache!
