I thought it was time for another easy puzzle cache. For this puzzle I am calling on the talents of my twin half brother-in-law, MindSeeker. He is a magician, mind reader and all-around mysterious fellow.
So now, ladies and gentlemen, be prepared for mystifying feats of mental magic, for uplifting demonstrations of remote telekinetic levitation, for confounding clairvoyant capabilities beyond comprehension. Fresh from a wondrous whirlwind worldwide tour of wherever, I give you... MindSeeker the Magnificent.
Welcome, welcome, all who have ever pondered the world beyond our daily lives, beyond the tangible, beyond the here and now. Welcome to the world of magic. For today's demonstration, I, MindSeeker the Magnificent, shall peer into someone's mind, read his hidden thoughts, and then use that knowledge in a powerful display of prestidigitation.
First I need a volunteer from the audience. How about you? Yes, you, please come up on the stage. Now, please verify for the audience that we have never met before, correct?
For the first part of the demonstration, I need you to think of a number, any number will do. Now write that number down on a piece of paper. Now show your choice to the audience. No, don't let me see it - this is magic.
Now please follow these simple steps of grade school computation...
- Starting with the number you wrote down, add 2
- Now multiply that result by 3
- Now add 6
- Now add your original number
- Now add 4
- Now divide by 4
- Now subtract your original number
- Now add 85
- Now multiply by 10
- That number is ABC
- You will also want to flip the digits (CBA) and subtract 48
- That number is DEF
So now you have chosen a location of N 40 04.DEF W 82 59.ABC.
At this point, I, MindSeeker the Magnificent shall attempt to read your mind. Concentrate on your chosen location and I shall discern the numbers you have calculated in secret. It is starting to come to me now. Yes, I have it. Hmmm. You have chosen a very interesting location. Are you sure you don't have a bit of sorcery in you?
And now, for the second part of my demonstration, I will call upon my lovely assistant, Nano the Magnetic. With Nano's help, I shall use your numbers in a demonstration of levitation and teleportation.
Watch as I wave my shiny steel wand over Nano and see how Nano rises in the air. Now watch closely. Whoosh, I have invoked powerful forces of levitation to teleport Nano to the location you have chosen with your numbers.
When you go to find Nano the Magnetic, I recommend bringing a magic wand to help coax Nano out of the hiding place. Also watch out for muggles. Magicians and wizards avoid encounters with muggles.
One final bit of legerdemain before I retire to my cavern of conjuration... When you find Nano, look up. It will be magic!!!
