Welcome to Little Egypt. You are not welcome here.
There are several Civil War veteran's buried in Ewald Cemetery but few tell stories of that. If you are sitting around a campfire and ask about Ewald Cemetery, you may not get a response. But mention it by its other name, Little Egypt, and you may just hear a story or two.
Claims have been made of apparitions appearing to those who visit this cemetery. Some people tell stories of the cries of a baby, when you throw a nickel at its grave. Some have seen hand prints appear on their windshields as they drive around the cemetery. Others tell of screams from a nearby woods or the ghostly shadow of a farmer who chases you. Did those headlights that are following you just appear out of the middle of that cornfield? Perhaps.
This legendary cemetery has sadly seen much vandalism in recent years and as a result, County Police patrol this heavily. Please be respectful and keep out of the cemetery. There is no reason to enter the cemetery to retrieve this cache. No night caching. Any logs indicating night caching will be removed. BYOP and as always please CITO.
