A chance for Geocachers (and non-Geocachers) to meet and talk about things in common, swap stories and perhaps discover and swap trackable items. It's aimed at both local Geocachers and for those travelling from further afield (of which I know there will be a number in the area this weekend). I believe there is food available in the pub and The Moorings restaurant (associated with the pub) next door specialises in seafood.
The event itself is nominally set to start at 6pm but there will probably be a number of us there earlier than this time and the log book will be available to sign from the moment I arrive.
I have spoken with the management. They don't have an area that can be booked so just look for the Geocachers (we're good at finding things!) - I'll probably be wearing a Geocaching related shirt and failing that, look for the 8 inch tall Eclectic Penguin Geocoin made from Welsh slate which I imagine will be prominently displayed!
If you're travelling from further afield you may be wishing to stay the night - there are a number of establishments suitable for this within walking distance including the pub itself and also a very reasonably priced hostel just a poc fada away.
Please note that this event will go ahead regardless of whether the planned trip to Skellig island is cancelled due to adverse weather.
For those who have already cached in this area, there will be a number of new caches placed in the area designed to coencide with this event, placed by Marcus in Kerry.
