Geocache Description:

Nestled in the old covert side of the woods!! It is a quiet county lane, but do be careful of traffic!

Wolford Wood and Old Covert lie in the extreme south-west of Warwickshire to the east of Moreton-in-Marsh. The woodlands occupy, gently rolling terrain They are ancient woodland and support a great variety of breeding birds.
Wolford Wood and Old Covert are wet ash woodlands with field maple which are typical of the Midland clay belt. They have been managed as coppice-with-standards. The canopy species are mainly ash, pedunculate oak and silver birch. Much of the large timber in Wolford Wood was felled in the 1920's but some remains in Old Covert.
