Pomnik Polegli Niepokonani 1939-1945 Monument of The Fallen Unconquerable
[PL]: Jest to dzieło rzeźbiarza Gustawa Zemły. Przedstawia on na kurhanie wyłożonym kostką brukową dużą wyrwę w rozerwanej z szarych granitowych bloków barykadzie, którą zasłania półleżąca postać wojownika z tarczą odlana w brązie. Trzymana przez niego tarcza zasłania kierunek zachodni, co sugeruje atak ze strony Niemców. Wokół pomnika ułożono bruk zebrany z wolskich ulic. W tle pomnika umieszczony został też duży krzyż. Uroczyste odsłonięcie pomnika miało miejsce 20.09.1973 r. Pomnik jest usytuowany wśród zieleni rozległego parku, w sąsiedztwie cmentarza powstańców i ludności cywilnej poległej i pomordowanej w czasie powstania warszawskiego. W 2001 r. pomnik został nieznacznie przerobiony przez autora na wniosek Światowego Związku Żołnierzy Armii Krajowej. Wtedy pojawiła się „korona” siedmiu różnej wielkości granitowych krzyży, które zostały ustawione na blokach powstańczej barykady, a do tarczy wojownika dodano jeszcze odlaną z brązu kotwicę Polski Walczącej, a drugą kamienną umieszczono na jednej z dwóch części barykady. [EN]: It is the work of the sculptor Gustav Zemla. On the mound lined with paving stones reclining figure of a warrior with a shield cast in bronze, covers a large gap in the barricade of the gray granite blocks. Shield covers the western direction, suggesting an attack from the Germans. Pavement that laid around the monument was collected from Wola streets. In the background of the monument was placed a large cross. The ceremonial unveiling of the monument took place on 9/20/1973. The monument is situated among the greenery a large park, adjacent to the cemetery of insurgents and civilians killed and murdered during the Warsaw Uprising. In 2001, the monument has been slightly reworked by the author at the request of the Polish veterans from AK. Then there was the "crown" seven different sizes of granite crosses that were set on blocks insurgent barricades, and the warrior's shield were added a bronze cast anchor of Polish Fighting, and the other stone anchor was placed on one of the two parts of the barricade. Moreover, the old boards with inscriptions have been mentioned.
