Geocache Description:

Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve is a 5,668-hectare forest located just minutes from downtown Vancouver. It is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, and in-line skating. This spectacular and diverse landscape contains alpine meadows, forested slopes and river flood plains.

You can see a PDF map of the LSCR here

Seymour Valley Trailway

The Seymour Valley Trailway is a 10 km paved path that winds through a diverse forest and crosses scenic creeks and streams. The Trailway features five picnic sites that include outhouses, benches, picnic tables and garbage cans. The Seymour Valley Trailway was built to replace the popular mainline service road, which is no longer open to the public due to construction on several drinking water projects. The 10 km trail is a popular location for an easy hike, cyclist, and in-line skating on smooth pavement that winds through a beautiful forest with picnic areas along the way. It is even wheelchair accessible with a wheelchair accessible drinking fountain, wheelchair friendly outhouses, specially designated parking spaces in the main lot, and access ramps to all public buildings.

The LSCR is open 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk. Area closures will only occur for public safety under the following conditions:
- if dangerous wildlife (bears or cougars) persist in an area
- if weather conditions warrant (high wind or heavy rain)
- when the fire hazard has reached an Extreme rating,. (Fire hazard is assessed daily April 1st to October 31st and a rating display board is located near the parking lot entrance. Check the board and observe any restrictions when entering the LSCR).

This series of 50 caches is place on behalf of you in recognition of your dedication to geocaching, and to the sprit of this outdoor orienteering sport. It has been placed along the Seymour Valley Trail to recognize and acknowledged you as a geocaching veteran.

This cache page currently contains your geocaching name in the title and within the body of the cache page there is a geocaching star of fame with your name.

You can leave the cache page with this, or you are welcome to supply elements that can be added to the page. Perhaps you would like to show your stats or some of your best achievements and milestones that you have accomplishments within the sport, a storey about one or more of your adventures or perhaps a link to your personal blog? It all up to you. It's a sort of Hollywood Boulevard only geocaching style.

Since this will be your geocache, you are invited to visit your cache and supply it with what ever swag you feel is appropriate,
and since it is a cache place in your honor you get to log your own cache with a smiley.

Each container placed will vary from a small lock N lock to a large size lock N lock or variation of other plastic containers.
Each will be outfitted with a logbook in a zip lock bag and a pencil.

All the caches have been placed along the Seymour Valley Trail from the parking lot all the way up to the Seymour Dam and are within 15 meters of the road and have been approved by Metro Vancouver.

The Seymour Valley Trail is 10 km one way and since there is no vehicle access you will have to travel the entire 20 km distance.
You should allow approximately 6 hours if on foot and what ever time needed for finding each cache which are not intended to be hard which is why I invite you to read each descriptive hint and to let me know if any cache placement needs updated coordinates.

If you are traveling by cycle you should be able to ride in one direction (without stopping for any caches) within 30-45 min you will have to allow for what ever time needed to find each cache along the way up.  I estimate if you cycle it should take you about 5-7 hours to complete all 50 caches.
