Geocache Description:

Easy to find Travel Bug Hotel near the busy Carowinds Amusement Park.

This should be a pretty quick park and grab. Cache is located just across the street from Carowinds, so it should get lots of traffic and hopefully be a nice home for many wandering Travel Bugs.

We have started the cache off with five TB's collected from near and far. As with any TB, PLEASE make sure you log it if you take it, so the cache inventory will be accurate!!

A little background on Carowinds:

Carowinds opened in 1973 and was the brainchild of Earl Patterson Hall, a Charlotte businessman. The park covers 377 acres straddling the state lines of North Carolina and South Carolina.

Mr. Hall's goal was for the park to bring the two states together and the original theme of the park featured the history and culture of the Carolinas. The park has changed hands many times over the years and is currently a part of the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and for many years the themes have revolved around television, movies and popular culture.

Cedar Fair does not release attendance data, but in 2011 the company purchased an additional 61 acres of adjoining land to expand the park complex.
