O.L.C. Series 2: Expanding caching in the nature preserves of the Open Land Conservancy of Chester County. These preserves are a little-known, yet wonderful resource and hopefully caching will bring more folks out to enjoy them.
This cache is located in a second set of ruins in the Cedar Hollow Preserve, just a short hike from Cedar Hollow Ruins. I personally love caches that take me to a piece of history, and if it includes ruins, all the better. So make sure you grab both when you visit, and be sure to take a moment, step back, and envision what life here might have been like "back in the day"...
From the parking area, cross the little bridge and then follow the yellow blazed trail in either direction (to the right is a bit quicker, but watch for a fork in the trail and keep left). Cache site will be obvious when you reach it. To return, either backtrack or continue forward - the trail will loop back to where you started. Set your Geocaching.com map to "OpenStreetMap" for an accurate view of the hiking trail, or click here for a map. Cache is big enough for geocoins & small trackables, as well as small trade items. As always, reseal & rehide well. Happy hunting!
