Le Château Smith Haut-Laffite (Smith du nom de l’Ecossais qui racheta le domaine au XVIIème) est une propriété vitivole de 67 ha, située au cœur des Graves, à Martillac, près des Sources de Caudalie, institut de vinothérapie. C’est un des domaines les plus réputés du vignoble bordelais.
On trouve sur place un chai souterrain contenant 1000 barriques, une chapelle du 18ème siècle et des sculptures contemporaines d'artistes internationaux.
Vous pouvez visiter le domaine et le chai sur RV et déguster ce grand cru. Pour trouver la cache, garez-vous sur le parking face à l’entrée du château (et de la sculpture) et rejoignez la cache à pied en longeant les vignes.
[ENG] The noble Bosq family started growing grapes here as early as 1365. The property was purchased in the 18th century by Scotsman George Smith, who gave the estate its present name. He also built the manor house and exported his – by now famous – wine to England on his own ships.
