A hidden park commemorating fallen soldiers
The 2/14 Battalion Park is a hidden gem, probably only known by a handful of locals. The drive will take you on a beautiful scenic drive to the foot of Mt Ninderry between coolum and Yandina.
The Park commerorates the camping spot of the Australian 2/14 Battalion who camped in the area for 3 months in 1942 prior to being moved to New Guinea. These men fought on the Kokoda Trail and 116 soldiers of the Battalion died during the war.
The scenic walk to the cache is about 250 metres from the parking area, a little steep but paved. It is a secluded spot and not likely to have any Muggles, but if you see a car or 2 parked on the road at the park entrance it might raise your suspicions.
The cache is at the foot of a tree, not far from the table. It is a mid sized screw top cache with some goodies inside and a FTF prize (which could be very valuable!)
When you are finished please disguise cache as you found it.
CONGRATULATIONS Kiwiz@GZ FOR THE FTF!
