Geocache Description:

Built in 1821 by the Rev. Richard Lucas of Great Casterton at his own expense, but not consecrated until July 1824; it is considered to be in a 'modern' Norman style. The other benefactor in helping to erect and endow the new church is recorded on a marble tablet

in the church.

It is thought that the square font may be from the original church, although the cover is modern.

There is one modern bell, rung from the porch.

Pickworth is one of the churches in which a three deck pulpit last surved. The clerk sat at the lower level and said his 'amens', the Rector reading the lessons and giving the service at the middle level, and climbing to the top deck to give his Sermon. The pulpit started in the nave west end, was moved to the north east corner, and finally banished by a parson who required the space as an open vestry.

“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list”
