During the summer of 1713, five notorious pirate captains met along the Elbow River to make an agreement never to attack each other. As a gesture of good faith, each took with them a bag of personal treasure to be hidden along the Elbow River. If any of the five were to be killed, their treasure was to be divided between those who remained.
Each pirate hid his treasure and drew a map, showing the location. There were just five maps, of which each captain had one copy of each. Within two years of the meeting, all five pirates were dead! Either killed in action or taken by the authorities and executed.
There were many rumours about the meeting along the Elbow River, but no one knew the whereabouts of the treasure or who held any of the maps. The story was consigned to myth and legend.
Then in 2012 a rumour started that one map was found. A new device using GPS was used to save its location so it could not be lost again. If you have one of these new devices you are able to locate the hiding spot of the map and then go find the treasure.
Will there be another map found? We will see...
