Geocache Description:

To get started, follow the white square reflective tape, going straight ahead on the path after the gate.

As of Feb 4, 2017 trail was clear, reflectors replaced, and cache was remade and replaced.

This cache received the 2012 BEST HIDE OF THE YEAR (Eastern) from the Maryland Geocaching Society. Thank you so much. We hope you have as much fun finding it as we had placing it.

If You go Down in the woods tonight,
You’d better not go ALONE….

We came to this area for another cache, and loved the hiking/informational trail here. Micastang gave us the idea about doing a night cache, so we thought this was the perfect place.

This is a SCARY NIGHT TIME cache. Start at the listed coordinates and then, using a flashlight, (or two) follow the reflectors to the cache. It is a little bit of a walk, so be prepared. Keep the white reflectors on your right as you go. When you come to a red reflector, be prepared for a change of direction. You will be able to see the cache with the flashlight from the path, but for safety’s sake, keep following the reflectors until you get to it. When you are finished, please put it back so the next night cachers can find it, but not so obvious for daylight hikers. The reflectors then continue so that you will complete the hike. Even after leaving, keep the reflectors on your right and it will bring you back out to where you started.

There are 3 bridges along this trail, as well as downed logs, sticks, etc. Please be very careful and watch where you are going! This should be a really fun cache for a group of brave individuals. Inside the cache is a key tag for FTF as a reminder of your trek.

Please park in the designated area, not directly in front of the gate.
The terrain rating is high because you are supposed to do this at night. It is a cleared path that you follow.
Be very careful and have fun.......if you dare!

And, yeah, you probably *could* find this cache during the day, if you are the skeerdy-cat-chicken-livered-yellow-bellied-sapsucker sort of person, but what is the fun in that?
