The route is a circular one on good paths along the banks of Stonethwaite Beck and Langstrath Beck. In total there are 20 geocaches which cover a distance of about 6.5 miles. However if you wish, you can do a shorter version by doing No.s 1 to 4 and then crossing over the bridge and doing No.s 15 to 21 which is a distance of about 2½ miles.
There is parking for approximately 6 cars in the gorgeous little hamlet of Stonethwaite, close to the phone box at N54 30.822 W003 08.441. If this is full there are a few places to park on the roadside leading into the Stonethwaite.
You are walking in officially the wettest part of the country, so please be prepared accordingly, and although this circuit is mainly on level ground (there are one or two short uphill deviations), when doing the full round, it is quite a trek, so ensure you go with adequate provisions.
Walk though the village past the Langstrath Inn and bear right signed ‘To the campsite’. You are looking for a camouflaged micro.
--A special thanks goes to the National Trust for their cooperation and permission in laying these caches.--
Can I please ask you NOT to upload photographs of any of the 'different' kind of containers, so that others can enjoy them.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION LV2 - WATERFALL HAS NOW BEEN ARCHIVED
++++++Enjoy the Journey.++++++
~~~~~~Congratulations to Flipflopnick on being the FTF~~~~~
I am afraid that Age and Ill Health has now caught up with me and I am unable to maintain my geocaches as I would like. I am therefore going to ARCHIVE this series along with others within the next few months.
If any fellow cachers would like to keep any of the containers for their own use, please help yourselves - JUST INFORM ME WHICH ONES YOU TAKE, so others can be informed.
In view of the above PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE TRACKABLES, RETRIEVE ANY BY ALL MEANS.
PLEASE NOTE: This series will now be archived on WED. 7th Sep 2022
